Outdoor Activities

In March, we took advantage of the late season snow to go snow shoeing, taking the Red Train to La Givrine above St Cergue, then snow shoed for three hours along tracks and through the trees finally arriving at the Cabin de Rochefort. We enjoying snow activities before cooking fondue by candlelight then finished the evening telling stories, putting on skits and playing games into the night. The following morning after breakfast we took a different track back down directly into St Cergue.   April 2007 Camporee

This years Annual Camporee was held in April at the International Scouts Centre in Satigny with BSA Scouts from different parts of Switzerland including Zurich and Basel getting together to celebrate the 100th year of Scouting with friendly competitions. Pack 130 Webelos joined in the fun and got a taste off what being a Boy Scout is all about, as the Troops competed in several events such as a bicycle obstacle course and blindfolded tent building, which tested their scout skills and ability to work as a team. The Scouts also impressed everyone by cooked meals by as many different methods as possible, other than gas or fuel stoves. The food was good and they are all still here to tell the tale!

Car boot sale at La Chat

La Chat held its Car Boot Sale on the 5th May, needless to say yet again in the rain! But this did not stop the Scouts help the Troop raise money towards new equipment. Tarps quickly put up to cover a well ran snack bar. Troop 130 saved the day for many with a hot snack, hot and cold drinks cakes hotdogs and burgers much to the delight of all the participants who braved the cold wet conditions. Whilst a number of Scouts were running the snack bar others were selling items collected, helping buyers determent to brave the elements to find that great bargain they were after. Troop 130 has several activities still remaining this year.  To come There is a backpacking, orienteering camping trip in May, also campouts and a rafting trip in June. The Scouting year will end with a Court of Honor on June 18th.when we have a dinner and receive awards, recognition and rank advancements earned for our hard work this year. It is never too late to get in on the fun. New scouts are always welcome in Troop 130. Learn outdoor skills, first aid and develop yourself physically, mentally and morally. Planning is already underway for next year, yet another fun packed year starting in September. Interested in learning more, please contact Scoutmaster
