If you go to the help menu item in troopmaster and then click on the about link you’ll get a small screen opening in this you will see the header:
Troopmaster 200x , and then immediately below Version x.xx
To update your version, Click on the *Check for newer version link under the Technical support section)
This will take you to the troopmaster website which will enable you download the latest version, you should be able to run this without changing anything. Finally if you go to the Menu item files, Preferences, you should check to make sure that the tick box option "Automatically check for newer versions" is selected to ensure your version is updated as soon as a fix is issued.
How do I run Troopmaster when I’m not connected to the web?
On the File/TroopMaster DotNet dialog, you will select the "Prompt to upload/unlock" setting in the "Unlock database when exiting program" section.
Before going to your meeting, logon to DotNet to download the latest data. When you exit the program, it will ask you if you want to upload and unlock the files. Select "Exit program without uploading database and leave web database locked."
When you open the program at your meeting, (presuming there is no internet connection), the program will offer to open with your local data files instead of downloading the web database.
click Yes at when prompted to start with the current database located on your hard drive. You will the continue to use the local copy of your files.
When you exit the program after the meeting it will again ask if you want to upload/unlock the database. Again, specify that you would like to exit without uploading/unlocking the files.
When you are home (and connected to the internet), open the program and again specify that you would like to start with the files on your hard drive. This time when you exit the system, you can specify to "Upload and unlock web database" to upload the changes you made at your meeting.
n.b when you lock the database nobody else can use it please update the database and unlock it as soon as you can afterwards. If you don’t the Troopmaster administrator will unlock the database and you will not be able to update the database with your changes.
