Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster specific training  Troop operation including: The Role of the SM; Troop Organization; Troop Meetings;  Working with Boy Leaders; The Patrol Method; The Patrol Leaders' Council; The Outdoor Program; The Advancement Program; Program Planning; Membership; Paperwork; and Finances.  This course is highly recommended for any adult who wants to become an active participant with the Troop.  This course can be completed in one full day or three evenings.  (8 hours).  Mike has DVDs

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training (BSLST)  Covers all aspects of troop operation, including: The Role of the Scoutmaster, Troop Organization, Troop Meetings/Patrol Method, Patrol Leaders Council, Outdoor Program, Advancement Program, Program Planning, Membership, Paperwork, Finances, The Uniform, Working with Boy Leaders (Must attend course).  TAC  (note:  at SAC in March)
Fast start training  This is the first training step for all new leaders and should be taken immediately after they register and before they meet with any youth memebers in the troop.  Basics of the Boy Scout program.  (45-minutes on-line (can do it in 20 minutes).  http://scouting.org/Training/Adult.aspx
Committee challenge  Required for every troop committee member to complete basic training.  On­line course.  Focuses on beliefs, aims and methods of Scouting.  Helps each committee member learn and identify his or her role and responsibilities in support of the adult leaders in the unit.  Estimated time for on-line course is 45 minutes.
