The Floating Scout floats!

We’ve now got picture published on the website of the boat that the scouts worked so hard to raise money for. Well done everyone.
Presentation to HUG

At the pack meeting on Friday a cheque for CHF6099.40 was presented to Dr Anthony Abbot the Chairman of HUG.

Many thanks to all the boys who worked very hard to raise this amount. The children in the ssesse islands are already benefiting from the the ‘Floating Scout’ and if you’d like to see what it’s needed for have a look at the HUG website.
Charity Update
This years target of raising 5,000 francs for HUG, has been reached and the boys have managed to raise 6,093.55 CHF. This is a wonderful achievement and will make a big impact on the life of the children in the Ssese Isles in Uganda .

Presentation to HUG
Blair Humphreys, the son of the founder of HUG, will come from London to the Pack meeting on 27th April, to receive a cheque for the money the pack has raised this year.
There will be a short video of the children attending school, singing, dancing and practising their English, this will let the cubs see what life is like for the children of the Ssese isles.
Update on HUG progress

After the bakesale put on by Den 6 which raised 571 francs the amount we have raised for HUG is now nearly CHF1,600. We are still waiting to find out how much was raised at the Escalade and once we have this figure we will do a further update to show you how we are getting on.

After the Pinewood Derby we’ve managed to raise a CHF1,000, the next fund raising event will be the Escalade so happy fund raising and good luck. For more details about this years target see the Buy a boat page and read some details about HUG (Help for children in Uganda).
