Aims & Objectives

If your interested in finding some english speaking activities for your children in the lake Geneva area and they are between the ages of 6 and 11 why not contact us.

The Cub Scout program has a clearly defined objectives. It aims to develop :

a boy’s moral strength – his personal qualities, his values, his outlook.

citizenship  – his relationship to other people, to the society he lives in, and the government presiding over that society.

physical, mental and emotional fitness – a healthy body, an ability to think & solve problems, self control, courage & self respect.

Pack 130 serves the English speaking community in the lake Geneva area (Vaud, Geneva and neighbouring France). The Pack has an international outlook, and whilst it is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America there are boys involved in the dens from countries all around the world.  The Pack has a communal meeting one Friday a month between 7pm-8pm at the La Chat campus near Founex, and there are additional pack events that the boys get involved in such as a bowling day, ski weekend at Kandersteg, a camping weekend, the pinewood derby, Blue and Gold Banquets,…etc.

The Pack is organised into different age groups called Dens – with between 4 to 10 boys in a den. The Den is organized and managed by a volunteer den leader (a parent). The den leaders usually organize between 2 to 3 den meetings per month where activities are run to achieve awards. At the end of a meeting the boys will be given tasks to work at with their parents to complete before the next meeting in order to earn additional cub scout badges, pins and belt loops. To achieve these awards the boy and a parent would usually expect to spend about 1 hour a week together on the task.

As everything is run by volunteers a parents involvement in the pack and den community is gratefully appreciated, the success of the Pack and the fun the boys have is all down to the hard work put in by everyone.

The cost of enrollment is currently CHF 300, and during the year there could be up to CHF 350 more to be spent  depending on the activities the boys get involved in.

NEW REGISTRATION: Is held annually at the start of September, details on joining can be found on the web site in the ‘Join Us’ page.
