Pack Campout
Posted by admin in Pack Events on May 16, 2007
I am delighted to announce that this year’s annual Pack 130 camp out will be held on the 2nd/3rd June at:
Camping Chez Langin
Chemin des Ecureuils
74330 CHOISY
www.chezlangin.com
The cost is Euro7.00 per person per night.
Please appoint a den representative and ask them to confirm the den’s attendance to me by the 27th May so I can confirm the reservation to the site.
I can also plan where each Den can pitch. I will be there from mid Saturday morning.
DIRECTIONS
The site is approximately 25-30 minutes (26.5km) drive from the Bardonet Douanes.
From Geneva take the N201 to Annecy and immediately after crossing the "Pont de la Caille" (the big bridge spanning the gorge), take the first right (approx 50m).
It’s well signposted but just in-case continue along the road for 2.0km until you arrive at a crossroads and go straight across.
After 1.4km you’ll arrive at a roundabout and go straight across (around it).
After 1.7km take a right and after 0.4km come to another crossroads and go straight across.
After another 0.4km turn right into the campsite. Alternatively if you go on the website you’ll get their GPS location.
2.30pm OPENING CEREMONY
It’s a lovely location with great walks so the earlier you arrive the more you’ll get out of it.
However I know that many boys are members of various clubs and will have commitments on Saturday morning.
We will therefore formally open the weekend at 2.30pm on Saturday with a Pack flag ceremony, by which time you are expected to have pitched your tents.
2.45pm GAMES
After the flag ceremony we will play some Pack games together, ie: – Football - Softball/Baseball - French Cricket - Volleyball (there is a court and net there) .
Each Den should organise one team game to be managed by parents from the den. Please appoint a den representative, who should let me know what game will be offered by their den.
4.30- 6pm FREE TIME
6.30pm COMMUNAL BBQ
8pm -9pm CAMPFIRE
Songs, stories and smores, marshmallows etc around a fire. Please bring a joke/story to tell.
Cub Uniform will be required for this part of the evening.
10.30pm LIGHTS OUT
SUNDAY MORNING HIKE – 9.30 am
After breakfast I shall arrange a hike. It would be nice if as many people as possible can join it.
We will be back at camp for lunch.
Those who wish to picnic can do so and then after a clear up (leave no trace) we can all return home.
Each Den will be responsible for ensuring that they clear up their pitch – and the person responsibe for the den will do each den’s site clearance.
FOOD
Please bring all the food and drink you will want to eat whatever it may be, but it should be BBQable for the Saturday evening.
Aside from the BBQ which will be for the whole pack, you may wish to coordinate the other meals within your Dens.
SWIMMING POOL
And finally, there is a small unheated swimming pool there (unfenced but away from the tents). If you want to bring swimming stuff it’s your call.
The Floating Scout floats!

We’ve now got picture published on the website of the boat that the scouts worked so hard to raise money for. Well done everyone.
Presentation to HUG

At the pack meeting on Friday a cheque for CHF6099.40 was presented to Dr Anthony Abbot the Chairman of HUG.

Many thanks to all the boys who worked very hard to raise this amount. The children in the ssesse islands are already benefiting from the the ‘Floating Scout’ and if you’d like to see what it’s needed for have a look at the HUG website.
