Many thanks to everyone who came to the KISC Scout centre in Kandersteg and made this weekend so enjoyable.
Friday evening saw everyone arrive and get set up, the centre had prepared an evening meal of chilli con carne and chocolate mousse which went down a treat and then all the boys got settled down to the task of getting to know each other again. Saturday morning saw everyone up nice and early to a beautiful warm sunny day. After breakfast each den set out for it’s days activities these involved hikes up and down to Oeschinesee (some took the chairlift up other fitter cubs walked up), there was orienteering, skiing (yes there was some snow left), chess, crafts, marbles, etc.
The evening started with the traditional fondue dinner (with a few kisses being spread around) and then the pack meeting was held where the some of the boys got their bobcat, tiger badges and all the boys got to vote for the HUG boat name (Floating Scout). The parents were then given the opportunity to decide if an evening camp fire was appropriate , which of course it was, and the boys entertained us all with jokes and stories.
Sunday saw another beautiful day and after the usual cleanup and pack up, each den set out to undertake more activities. I’m not sure what the other dens did but Den 7 had a beautiful day up at Sunnbuel, snowshoeing, which I would recommend to everyone, the scenery is wonderful and if you are feeling adventurous you can even walk down.
